PBS Learning Media

Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) has created PBS Learning Media, a free digital resource library of customizable content for educators.  Once educators have completed the free registration, they will find tens of thousands of free activities available at their fingertips! From math and science activities, to professional development opportunities and webinars, this database gives the user the opportunity to chose the: grade level, subject, media type, resource, state standards, language, etc. to find the activitiies that meet students' specific needs.

Common Sense Media - Digital Education Resources

Common Sense Media, a non-profit organization, is "dedicated to improving the lives of kids and families by providing the trustworthy information, education, and independent voice they need to thrive in a world of media and technology" ("Our Mission," n.d., para. 1). The non-profit organization offers free k-12 curriculum and tools for educators and parents to teach students to become responsible digital citizens.  Topics include cyber bullying, Internet safety, social media, and much more.

The ITEST Learning Resource Center has compiled information on various instruments to help researchers, evaluators, and practitioners, identify and locate instruments used to assess learning and other related outcomes in STEM learning environments (ITEST 2012).

The California Afterschool Network Professional Development Team

As part of the JumpStarting STEM pilot the California Afterschool Network Professional Development Team has provided about 25 trainings between 17 programs representing upwards of 250 sites, in all 11 regions of California.  Evaluation results from these trainings are captured below.
